About the Project:
- I've been a waitress for 2 years now in a small, family owned seafood
restaraunt in an equally small south Texas town. It only took a few months for
me to realize the waitressing world is an amazing place: every night the job
changes, funny and tragic occurances are a dime a dozen, and working with
teenage girls never fails to have it's share of drama. There's also the people.
Customers have made me laugh, cry, and smile with the littlest things, and after
the experiences I've had, I wanted to make sure these wonderfully blunt
observations into the human character are remembered. I've yearned to write
about my adventures as a waitress ever since I started work there. Originally it
was going to be a memoir, then a weblog, and now it's finally evolved into what
I wanted it to be all along: a manga. These tales are almost all true, with very
few things (like names) changed to protect the innocent, clumsy, and psychotic.
Mostly, though, I wanted to get my story told, and this seemed like the best
place to do it.
